Leeds United chairman Ken Bates as asked for the TV companies to give them a break next season.
Leeds were a popular choice by both Sky and the BBC during last seasons championship with ten games being chosen for live TV coverage.
In total, Leeds were chosen for twelve live TV games last season with the two games against Arsenal in the FA Cup shown on ITV.
In the previous season, Leeds were shown on thirteen occasions, including becoming the first ever FA Cup tie to be streamed live on the FA website for their first round tie at Oldham Athletic.
With Leeds having fans up and down the country, as well as regular visitors from Ireland and Scandinavia, Bates is calling for the TV companies to give them a break.
Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bates said, “We`ll be trying to work out which games Sky will try to hijack and move around.
“Because we`re one of the most attractive clubs in the Championship, they want us on TV all the time.
“The problem with that is it plays havoc with our fans` travel arrangements and its only fair that we get a few less games this season – certainly at home.”
Whilst most of the Football League kicked off at 3pm on the opening Saturday last season, Leeds had to wait until 5.15pm so their opening game of the season against Derby County at Elland Road could be shown live on the BBC.
The following weekend Leeds were again live, this time on Sunday lunchtime for their trip to Nottingham Forest being shown live on Sky TV.
Some of the games that caused more of a problem for fans at each end of the country were Leeds home games with Cardiff City (Monday night) and Reading (Friday night).
Leeds saw their longest trip of the season to Swansea City moved to Saturday lunchtime for live coverage.
The games chosen for live coverage also see a big drop in attendance with Leeds home game with Cardiff watched by just 20,747. The gate was Leeds lowest home crowd of the season and over 6,500 below the average for the season.
Three of Leeds last four games of the season were also shown live as the TV companies are aware they will draw a big audience.
With the fixtures released on Friday for the 2011/12 season it might be worth waiting until the TV companies have made their decisions for the opening few months of the season.
