A few Leeds United fans have been gushing over a graph shared by LUFC Data, showing the areas of the pitch where Mateusz Klich has recorded his 69 key balls so far in the Championship this season.

Klich has created the squad’s second-most chances to score in the league this term, with Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison (76) the only one to have amassed more before the season was put on hold.

LUFC Data’s graph shows Klich as having played most of his key balls from the edges of the penalty area, with few coming directly from the wings or a central location.

Four of Klich’s key balls have also come from near to the half-way line, showing the range he has in his pocket to pick out a teammate when they are breaking through into goalscoring positions.

Creating chances is not the only way that Klich has contributed to our efforts this term, though, as the 6ft ace has also amassed the highest number of accurate passes in the final third of the pitch (645), won 125 ground duels (46%) and 25 aerial duels (56%), per Sofa Score.

Who has missed more big chances to score after 37 league games?

Data collected by Sofa Score from our Championship matches so this season also show Pablo Hernandez (65 key balls) and Kalvin Phillips (60) as being pivotal to our offensive efforts on route to sitting atop the table.

Harrison, Hernandez and Stuart Dallas have also created a higher number of big chances to score than Klich with 14, 11 and 10 respectively to the Poland internationals nine. Although, only the City loanee (seven) and former Valencia star (six) have more assists than Klich (four).
