So, it’s transfer deadline day today.
And that usually means a large number of players in and out of various clubs. However, movement isn’t necessarily restricted to just players it would seem. According to a report from Sky Sports over the weekend, our very own Director of Football Victor Orta has been targeted by AS Roma to take up a similar role with them.
Having been in charge for just over three years, two of which saw immense growth under Marcelo Bielsa with some incredible talent brought in, it’s no wonder that other clubs might be sniffing around trying to catch a bit of the magic.
However, taking to Twitter, Leeds journalist Phil Hay insisted that he wasn’t going to be going anywhere just yet, stating that we should be able to hold onto him for at least the remainder of the current campaign:
he's been linked with quite of few DOF jobs in the past. Well respected in the game. He wanted to give Leeds at least this season though.

Which is somewhat reassuring, although it does put a bit of pressure on us as a club to do something to make him want to stay rather than leave. If we are to become an established Premier League team, then we need to keep as many of our key men as possible, starting with the man in charge of transfers.
