Leeds’ U23 side have been in terrific form this season, and continued their assault on the Professional Development League with a resounding 4-0 win over Charlton Athletic on Monday night.
One man, in particular, stood out to these Whites fans for his efforts at Elland Road, and that was January arrival Mateusz Bogusz.
The Poland U20 international has been working with Carlos Corberan’s U23 side since his arrival on a two-and-a-half year deal, and finally struck his first Whites goal on Monday with a well-deserved effort in the 80th minute.
Bogusz could have fired home his first successful strike in West Yorkshire earlier on in the encounter, yet it was his passing range that was most impressive against Charlton.
The former Ruch Chorzow star created a good chance for Jack Clarke to score on his return to action, before forging an opening for Jordan Stevens to fire home just before the break.
If Bogusz can keep up his work rate under Corberan, and continue to demonstrate great intelligence in possession, it will not be long before Marcelo Bielsa leans towards handing the 17-year-old his senior debut.
Should the Argentine call-up the academy star, he would be sure to delight these Whites fans…
The lad can play, got a great vision too. Like a Pablo junior.

The thing about Bogusz is that he isn’t. He’s the real deal.
