The wait for football to return continues as Leeds wait with held breath to see if they are going to return to the Premier League at long last.

Now, though, is a good time to take stock of the current situation at the club in terms of the players and their future, with there being plenty of time to plan for comings and goings.

Has he got a future at the club?

Yes

No

And, as per Leeds Live, Robbie Gotts faces a real battle at the moment to get more first-team minutes than he has so far, thanks to recent transfer arrivals.

They write:

“The January signings of Ian Poveda and Jean-Kevin Augustin added depth to Bielsa’s squad which is likely to limit Gotts’ opportunities further.”

Certainly, Gotts has got it tough but he’ll be heartened by the fact that Marcelo Bielsa has often sought to use young players during his time at the club.

Jack Clarke was the prime example last season, whilst the likes of Jamie Shackleton and, most recently, Illan Meslier have had faith placed in them to perform at the level required.

Indeed, we’ve seen a little bit of Gotts and fans will want to see more, given that he is a product of the youth set-up at the club.

Thinking of Clarke, in particular, it might also be wise for Gotts to just bide his time and stay at the club to learn anyway.

Clarke’s career has stalled a bit after leaving the Whites and that is a warning to young players that, sometimes, working under Marcelo Bielsa is the best thing to do.

Yes, he’s behind Poveda and Augustin and others that were already at the club before they arrived, but the summer window could change who’s at Leeds anyway for next season, perhaps he’d be best off biding his time.
