Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is being tipped for an exit from the Whites in the summer window by Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross.

The Whites have had a fantastic season so far but things are on pause with the global pandemic continuing to take all of the headlines right now.

And, that in mind, now seems a good time to take stock of what has been going on with the Whites and the players that are at the club.

Indeed, that is what Leeds Live have done, with them suggesting that Casilla moving away in the summer might not be the hardest thing to imagine.

Cross writes:

“Casilla has only been in the UK for 14 months and you don’t sense he would take much convincing to see out the rest of his career in Spain.

“Had the club’s highest earner been performing consistently as the best stopper in the Championship it may have proved a harder sell, but he simply hasn’t got to that level enough to justify a Premier League berth.”

Should he go?

Yes

Yes

No

No

You can’t really argue with the points.

Though Casilla has had good games, he’s perhaps not been at the level you’d expect with many errors creeping into his performances.

He’s currently suspended for the next few matches – whenever they return – and Illan Meslier has stepped up in his place with the Whites showing decent form with him in between the sticks.

There’s still clearly plenty of time between now and the summer window opening, but if Casilla was to leave during it Cross is probably right, few would really shed a tear over a player that has been decent but not without some evident flaws.
