Leeds Will Be Hoping It’s Third Time’s A Charm In Chase For Key Talent

Brighton and Hove Albion youngster, Ben White, needs little introduction at Elland Road following his fantastic loan spell with Leeds United and the part the 22-year-old played in helping us to promotion back to the Premier League as Championship title winners.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa is clearly a fan of the youngster and plenty of fans were hoping that with promotion secured we could somehow do a permanent deal for the lad and Victor Orta is doing his best as Sky Sports are reporting this evening that Brighton have now turned down a second, and improved, offer from us for his services.

Having earlier failed in an £18.5million offer, we have reportedly upped it to £22million and they have also rejected that in the hope of keeping White with them.

This could be a tricky and drawn out deal given his existing terms at The Amex (2 yrs & option of 3rd), but given Sky also report that he has rejected two fresh contract offers from them, it should surely only be a matter of time before the price is right for them to not worry about having an unhappy player on their hands, and one that presumably, wouldn’t sign any kind of contract extension down the line.

We just need to make sure that deal is right for us as well.
