“Leeds were in for him” – Many Leeds fans gutted to have missed out on £2.7m rated man

A lot of Leeds United fans are discussing the fact they missed out on the signing of Romaine Sawyers.

The 28-year-old central midfielder is dominating the Championship this season.

Sawyers spent three years at Brentford, where he became one of the Championship’s best midfielders, but in the summer, he was sold.

West Bromwich Albion picked him up for just £3m, and it is no surprise that the Baggies now sit top of the league with Sawyers controlling the midfield.

Sawyers was named as Man of the Match in West Brom’s 2-0 win over Stoke City as he had the most touches and completed the most passes in the game.

Sawyers is from Birmingham so a move home was always going to appeal for him.

However, Leeds were interested in bringing Sawyers to Elland Road, and many Whites fans are gutted to have missed out on his signature – especially now that he is performing so well for a promotion rival.

Are you disappointed Leeds did not sign Sawyers?
