According to the Derbyshire Telegraph, Marcelo Bielsa prefers Matej Vydra over Abel Hernandez – which may come as a surprise to some of us – and the club is looking into signing him seriously.

The Whites have been linked with both forwards so far this summer with the former potentially available as Derby look to balance their books and the latter currently without a club.

Certainly, you’d have thought the South American Hernandez might be a favourite of Bielsa’s but it looks as though the Czech is actually the man at the top of his list with the club expressing an interest in signing him to Derby.

Both are class forwards, of course, and it seems as though Bielsa knows who he wants most.

The Verdict

Personally, I’d actually prefer Hernandez but I think both would be good for us.

Vydra is a proven forward at this level and would score goals, I just feel Abel has that extra bit of quality and could make the step up to the Premier League – if we hopefully go up – easier.
