Leeds United have one foot in the Premier League and it appears they are cracking on with their plans for the summer transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Yorkshire giants are one of several clubs interested in Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Amer Gojak, though they’ll have to battle some European top-flight teams like Hertha Berlin and Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old replaced emerging star Dani Olmo after he joined RB Leipzig in January and has thrived since.

Do Leeds need to find a successor to Pablo?

Absolutely

Absolutely

Per Transfermarkt, Gojak has provided four goals and five assists in all competitions, and was also part of the squad that faced Man City in the Champions League group stages.

Football Talent Scout unearthed quotes from bhdragons.com back in 2014 when the maestro was only 17-years-old, claiming that he was the biggest Bosnian talent since Edin Dzeko.

“Arguably the biggest talent in Bosnia since Edin Dzeko, Gojak burst on to the scene a few years ago as he set several scoring marks while playing in the FK Željezničar youth squads. Amer Gojak is a skilful attacking midfielder who has also been deployed as a centre forward and winger due to his good pace, dribbling ability, aerial prowess and hold up ability.”

Marcelo Bielsa will undoubtedly have his mind focused on these final two matches with his side only requiring one point to secure a return to the top-flight for the first time in 16 years.

Therefore, this may arguably be a move from director of football Victor Orta ahead of the summer – the club will definitely have to bolster their ranks to compete in the PL.

In 1967, goalkeeper Gary Sprake unfortunately gifted Liverpool a goal as he threw the ball into his own net - which defender was he actually aiming for?

You only have to look at the plights of Fulham and Aston Villa in recent seasons.

This campaign, the Whites have been far too reliant on the qualities of Pablo Hernandez, who is getting no younger at 35. He needs someone better than Tyler Roberts in his position, and someone that can eventually replace him one day.

Gojak meets the criteria if the aforementioned quotes are anything to go by. His displays against UCL quarter-finalists Atalanta, as well as City, bolster his claims – the latter of which, he notched six tackles and a passing success rate of nearly 82%.

He’s even bagged four goals in just ten international appearances. Promising signs.
