Leeds United face late transfer struggle for young midfielder as PL club lines up raid – report

|

Leeds United may have to fight Tottenham Hotspur if they are to retain the services of Jack Clarke.

Numerous Premier League sides have been linked with a move for the 18-year-old midfielder this month, including Manchester United, Southampton and Crystal Palace, but the trio’s efforts have so far been waved away by the Whites.

However, the Elland Road outfit face yet another battle for the talented teenager, as Tottenham Hotspur are understood, according to The Mirror, to be seeking a move in the closing days of the transfer window.

So far, Spurs are yet to sign anyone this season, having failed to refresh their roster in the summer and again look likely of not adding in January unless young stars can be signed.

Clarke is said to be one of Spurs’ top targets in that respect, and are hopeful a deal can be struck before Thursday’s deadline strikes.

So far this season, the 18-year-old has featured 14 times in the Championship, scoring and assisting two goals apiece.
