Announced on the official club website and Twitter account, Leeds United have announced that three academy players have signed new contracts with the club. Charlie Allen, Darryl Ombang and Jeremiah Mullen have all put pen to paper on new deals.

Goalkeeper Darryl Ombang has signed his first professional contract with the club in a deal that will run until 2024. The 17-year-old began this season by playing for Michael Skubala’s Under-21s side in the Premier League 2 Division 2. He has also represented England at under 17 level, playing 90 minutes for his national side in a 2-0 win over Romania.

Centre back Jeremiah Mullen, 18, only signed his first professional deal with Leeds last year, but as youngsters like Charlie Cresswell, Oliver Casey, Pascal Struijk and Leo Hjelde have either moved on or up into the first team, that made him an integral member of the under-23’s. He is described as a ball-playing central defender who shows confidence both defensively and when pushing forward. He has signed a deal that will run until 2025

Midfielder Charlie Allen, 18, arrived from Linfield in August 2020 as a 16-year-old for an undisclosed fee. The Northern Ireland youth international has since gone on to play regularly with the under-18s and under-23s. With the versatility to operate in all areas of midfield. Last season he played a total of 24 matches combined in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, scoring three goals. He has signed a deal that will run until 2024.

Leeds are yet again showing that the future is bright by tying up talented youngsters on long-term contracts.
