Leeds tipped for promotion as rival bigs up Bielsa’s boys – report

Graham Potter will be getting fed up of talking about Leeds United after the endless speculation in January relating to Daniel James, but the Yorkshire Evening Post have quoted the Swansea boss as tipping the Whites for promotion.

The Yorkshire Evening Posts quotes came in the aftermath of the Welsh outfit’s trip to Elland Road on Wednesday night, which saw United return to the top of the table with a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Pontus Jansson and Jack Harrison.

As for Swansea, their twelfth defeat of the season leaves them in twelfth place and going into the tie, Potter expected a hostile reception and a tough game as he considers Leeds to be as good as they come and with a great chance of sealing promotion this year.

“They’ve got as good a chance [of going up] as anybody from what I’ve seen,” Potter said. “Away from home, it’s very hostile and Leeds are a good team. They played well so I’d say it’s as tough as it’s been.

“Maybe if we’d have got a goal a bit earlier they’d have got a bit nervous. In the end, we weren’t good enough to get a result.”

The clash also marked Daniel James appearing at Elland Road for the first time since his proposed move to the club collapsed, to which Potter added: “He gave his best. It wasn’t an easy night for anybody.”
