Marcelo Bielsa offers injury update that will delight many Leeds fans

|

Leeds United are back at the top of the Championship, but as if that is not good enough, Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed, per the Yorkshire Evening Post, that Stuart Dallas and Gaetano Berardi are close to a return.

Berardi’s return, alone, will delight a lot of the Elland Road faithful who have been missing the centre-back while he continues to re-build fitness in his hamstring after it tore from the bone, while Dallas has been ruled out with a fractured foot.

Bielsa, however, will take advantage of Leeds’ brief break in fixtures thanks to QPR’s cup progression to see Berardi and Dallas return to action with the U23s on Friday and Monday, along with a number of fringe players.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported the Argentine’s claim along with quotes that the former Marseille boss would be taking a trip around Yorkshire, himself, to visit the spots he is yet to see.

“The starters will have a full rest from Thursday until Sunday,” Bielsa confirmed. “Those who played less will play Friday and Monday with the [under] 23s. Those who are recovering from injury will take advantage of this time to recover well.

“I like to walk and I like to visit the places I don’t know in this region. What I like to do the most is to visit this area of England. I have many secrets to discover here and I’ll take advantage of this time.”
