As per the club’s official Twitter, Laurens de Bock has been shipped out to Belgian outfit KV Oostende on loan.

The Whites have certainly been quick to get rid of the deadwood this summer.

Plenty left when Bielsa first arrived and more have gone since as he has gone about trimming the squad down.

We’re now seeing players leave on loan and De Bock is certainly one man who needs to be playing elsewhere as he wasn’t going to get minutes here.

Barry Douglas and Tom Pearce are both better than him whilst Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling could even go across to the left if needed.

It makes sense to let him go, then, and it remains to be seen how he does over there.

To be honest, though, even if he performs okay I think it would be for the best that we actually just let him go permanently.
