Late yesterday evening Leeds United confirmed that the Football Association, thoroughly predictably, had handed centre-half Pontus Jansson a ban for having the temerity to tell the truth using a horrible, nasty word each of us probably use every hour.

In the recent game against Brentford prior to the October international break, the Football Association became more concerned about a single word than they did a childish headbutt and as everyone expected, the 27-year-old Swedish international was charge for bringing the game into disrepute given his post-game interview.

The full statement, including the clubs’ mitigating reasons when responding to the charge are outlined on the following link – Click Here.

I believe these words say enough though and fair play to the club for the honesty.

“Leeds United accept the one match ban issued to Pontus Jansson following our game with Brentford earlier this month, purely due to the fact that the club sees no value in making an appeal.”

The club also made a point of stating that they felt a ‘warning or a fine’ would’ve been a ‘fairer outcome’ given the circumstances of the game that played itself out.

I think those comments adequately sum in the feeling on social media as the news came in.

I’ll leave the final words for the man himself, I wasn’t offended and silver lining, he gets an extra break with his missus and bab.
