Leeds Reportedly Tracking Ligue 1 International Defender

|

There was a bit of a left-field transfer rumour mill piece of speculation over the weekend, but it was certainly an interesting one – apparently we are now tracking highly rated St Etienne centre-half, Harold Moukoudi.

The 22-year-old one cap Cameroon international came through the ranks at French side Le Harve, and having been promoted up to their first team 2016, he went on to make 59 appearances for them and did attract interest from Aston Villa two summers ago, but chose to stay in Ligue 1 to better guarantee game time.

Last summer he made the switch to St Etienne, but the spell hasn’t gone well and after 15 appearances, he’s now finding game time more limited and French outlet L’Equipe have claimed that manager Marcelo Bielsa has taken a liking to him, and has us ‘monitoring his availability’ ahead of a potential loan to buy move before the January window closes.

The reports credit West Bromwich Albion, Derby County, Stoke City and Burnley as all having an interest, but this one might be one to watch this week.
