Following all the speculation about Leeds United’s apparent chase for young Manchester City attacker Ian Poveda, the club finally announced that we had got the deal over the line on Friday for the 19-year-old talent.
He’s headed into Elland Road on a deal keeping him with us until the summer of 2024, and the young lad certainly has pedigree having spent time with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona during his youth career.
With the formalities now over, we’ve handed him the Number 7 short for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

With few Leeds fans really knowing what to expect from him, other than the promise his pedigree implies he has, City supporters who have presumably seen more of him seem happy to wish him well, and appear to have some expectation that they’ll soon see him back in the Premier League as well.
Great talent gone on a free smh good luck to him

City gaffer Pep Guardiola certainly spoke highly of him following their victory over Fulham on Sunday afternoon, and Leeds Live have him quoted as saying.
“He’s young, he has to play. He was not able and Leeds United is an incredible challenge. To be training with one of the best, maybe the best, managers in the world in terms of how he helps the players to be better players. He has an incredible power to develop. For the way Leeds play, suits perfect for his qualities.”
Be interesting to see how quickly we see him involved.
