According to James Marshment via his Twitter account, Leeds have made an improved offer of £21m for forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, which meets the valuation set by French club Paris Saint-Germain. Talks are now under way over a deal to take the France U21 striker to Elland Road.

Leeds have been tracking the young forward since the season ended, and are reported to have had a £17m bid rejected by the French club in recent weeks. It now appears they have met the valuation and PSG are open to letting youngster move on. Kalimuendo, who has spent the last two season on loan at Ligue 1 club Lens. Last season he registered 13 goals, an improvement on his first season when he scored 8.

The youngster is thought of highly in France, but his future at PSG is uncertain due to him being behind quality in the pecking order. New coach Christophe Galtier has a whole host of world class players with Mbappe, Neymar, Messi and Icardi to choose from, vastly limiting game time for Kalimuendo.  Leeds are hoping to use the situation to their favour and could tempt him to the Premier League with the promise of first team football.

According to TeamTalk  ‘Leeds United have ‘stepped up’ their interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo and have made an improved offer for him’

Leeds are certainly in the hunt for a forward, bidding £31m for Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere, and now £21m for Kalimuendo.  They are making moves in the transfer market and not afraid to pay big money for their targets, already spending good money bringing in 6 players so far. Coach Jesse Marsch has admitted the club are actively seeking a striker, but it remains to be seen if that will be Kalimuendo, De Ketelaere or somebody else. Victor Orta will have to work his magic and bring in a world class striker to appease the fans after losing prize assets Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.
