Vital Leeds United is keeping a close eye on how the Leeds players are doing during their loan spells away from the club.

Leeds have seven players out on a loan until the end of the season.

Lewie Coyle – Fleetwood Town (Season-long loan) Appearances 44 (2) Total 46 Goals 0

Coyle (number 2) played the 90 minutes and he was given a torrid time by the Wigan Athletic attack in Fleetwood’s 4-0 home defeat on Saturday. He was caught looking for an offside decision for the second goal and he was caught out of position for the third goal.

The win for Wigan secured their promotion back into the Championship and Leeds will be visiting the DW Stadium again next season.

Fleetwood, who have announced Joey Barton as their new manager when his football ban ends in June, remain seven points clear of the relegation zone.

With just two games remaining in the season, Coyle has now made 46 appearances for Fleetwood this season and he has been booked on five occasions. The young full-back has failed to score during his loan spell.

Luke Murphy – Burton Albion (Season-long loan) Appearances 33 (6) Total 39 Goals 1

Murphy played 81 minutes for Burton and he was also booked in an enthralling relegation clash at Sunderland.

Burton looked to be heading for a defeat at the Stadium of Light but they fought back to win 2-1 with two goals coming in the final four minutes of the game. Sunderland had a goal ruled out with the last kick of the game as Burton saw their chances of beating the drop given a chance.

The Brewers are two points behind fourth from bottom Bolton Wanderers with two games remaining and the two sides meet at Burton next weekend.

The defeat for Sunderland condemned them to relegation and they will be playing in League One next season.

Murphy has now played 39 games for Burton this season, scoring once and he has been booked eight times.

Marcus Antonsson – Blackburn Rovers (Season-long loan) Appearances 24 (8) Total 32 Goals 8

Blackburn moved to within one win of promotion on Thursday night with a 3-1 win against Peterborough United.

Antonsson played 68 minutes before being substituted in the clash at Ewood Park and he has now gone 14 games without a goal.

The Swedish striker has now made 32 appearances for Blackburn, scoring eight goals.

Blackburn can secure promotion with a win at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Yosuke Ideguchi – Cultural Leonesa (Remainder of the season) Appearances 1 (4) Total 5 Goals 0

Ideguchi was once again an unused substitute for Leonesa as they produced a remarkable comeback at Granada. Leonesa scored twice in injury time to secure a 3-3 draw. It was a massive point for Leonesa in the Spanish Second Division as it lifted them out of the relegation zone.

Ideguchi has now not featured for Leonesa since 18th February and he has played just 109 minutes since joining them in January, leaving his World Cup finals dream with Japan in tatters.

Liam Kitching – Harrogate Town (Remainder of the season) Appearances 8 (1) Total 9 Goals 3

Kitching has missed both of Harrogate’s games in the past week through injury having completed his three-match suspension, as Harrogate saw their hopes of automatic promotion ended with defeats at Boston United and Bradford Park Avenue.

Harrogate will now aim to win promotion via the end of season play-offs.

Mateusz Klich – FC Utrecht (Remainder of the season) Appearances 12 (0) Total 12 Goals 0

Klich played 54 minutes for Utrecht on Thursday night and he was booked as they could only manage a 1-1 home draw against Groningen.

Utrecht are now without a win in five games and they remain in fifth place in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Mallik Wilks – Grimsby Town (Remainder of the season) Appearances 3 (2) Total 5 Goals 0

Wilks is still sidelined with a hamstring injury but Grimsby have now almost confirmed their status in League Two next season with a 1-0 win at Swindon Town.

The win for Grimsby moves them five points above Barnet in the final relegation place with just two games remaining.

Wilks loan spell at Grimsby has been blighted by injury and he has made just five appearances since his arrival in January.

The better news for Wilks is, he is close to securing a League Two title winners medal with Accrington Stanley, where he spent the first half of the season on loan.

Accrington secured their first promotion from the fourth tier of English football in their 131-year history in midweek and their 4-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday moves them to within one point of the title.

Wilks made 19 league appearances for Accrington in the first half of the season scoring crucial goals against Notts County, Chesterfield and Newport County.
