Graham Smyth via Twitter and the YorkshireEveningPost report on the issues surrounding Leeds failed kit launch, and give an update on the timeline for the release of the away and third kits.

Leeds United have issued an apology to fans after supply chain issues delayed the sale of the new home kit and have given details on the release dates surrounding the away and third kits. The Whites will launch their 2022/23 away kit next week but will only be able to sell a limited amount of stock from Thursday August 4, with more stock set to be available the following month. The club has stated that initial stock will be sole exclusively online saying ‘to ensure that once sizes are sold out, pre-orders can be made.’

The third kit will be revealed ‘in due course’  and will go on sale to supporters on Thursday September 22. “Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused our supporters,”

With all the media and club events in Australia, it feels like a massive opportunity missed to show off the new kit and training wear, and subsequently the sales would have generated massive income for the club.

A spokesperson said “As a result of unprecedented challenges over the past year, we expect to see a delay to Leeds United’s 2022/23 match and training wear. We understand and apologise for any frustration felt by fans at this time. We’re working hard with Leeds United to find the best solution on delivering the product as soon we can. More information will be provided soon.”
