According to Ekrem Konur via Twitter, Leeds United and AC Milan are interested in 22-year-old Red Bull Salzburg attacker Noah Okafor.

The 22-year-old is well known by Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch from their time together at Salzburg and the forward scored the only goal of the game when they defeated Sevilla 1-0 in the final group stage match of the Champions League to make history as they became the first Austrian club to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament. He has played 58 games for the club to date and has netted 23 goals. He has made 8 International appearances for Switzerland and scored 2 goals. Okafor scored his first international goal for Switzerland on 15 November 2021, in their World Cup qualifying game against Bulgaria, a win which secured automatic qualification for Switzerland to the 2022 World Cup.

The young forward who can also play in midfield joined Basel in 2009 and played in their youth academy until 2017. He broke into the first team set-up the season after and from 2018-2020 he played a total of 39 games scoring 3 goals, before he joined Red Bull Salzburg on the 31st of January 2020. His market value according to Transfermarkt is £16.2m.

It is still uncertain if Leeds will make a move for the youngster in January or hold out until the summer. The attacking midfield position is one which is comfortable in way of numbers at Elland Road with Brenden Aaronson, Mateusz Klich, Archie Gray, Darko Gyabi, Crysencio Summerville and Jack Harrison all occupying the role in some capacity, with Luis Sinisterra, and Rodrigo providing the links from midfield to attack.

What do fans think, would Okafor be a good signing for Leeds? Or should they go for more Premier League experienced players? Let us know in the comments,
