Leeds United went into today’s clash with Middlesbrough at Elland Road knowing that victory would send us back to the top of the Championship table, even if only temporarily.
With a common theme under manager Marcelo Bielsa being a lack of making the most from the chances we created, we blew that away earlier this afternoon in some style – taking a 4-0 victory and getting ten efforts on target from our 16 overall.
Patrick Bamford opened the scoring three minutes into the game, and three minutes into first half stoppage time, Mats Klich doubled our advantage. Helder Costa showed his worth in the second half and made it 3-0 with just over 20 remaining in the game, and Klich helped himself to a brace in the 73rd.
That was where the scoring ended, but the fans were given a bit of a treat.
Onto the one now, hopefully, West Bromwich Albion will slip up in their fixture but that gap to third place in growing again.
