Alex Wollerton might not be a name we are too familiar with and it looks as though we might not get the chance to be either – for our club at least.
The youngster was taken on trial by Barnsley earlier this week and he played for their U23 side, as per their Twitter account.
The Tykes are doing very well this season in League One and there is a good chance that they could be back in the Championship.
Hopefully, though, we won’t be seeing them because we’ll be back in the Premier League – and Wollerton might not be joining us.
We’ve a whole host of excellent young players in the youth ranks now with the U23 side excelling this season and so only the very best youth stars are going to make it.
Wollerton can still have a good career, though, and it’ll be no surprise to see him sign for the Reds.
