Leeds Closing In On First January Capture & It Would Be Quite A Coup

|

Speculation linking Leeds United with a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has stepped up a gear this morning.

Reports on the rumour mill had suggested that we were talking to the 32-year-old goalkeeper this January window, and the implication was that talks had been ongoing for some time.

Sky Sports have reported this morning that after around a week of talks, the potential deal is now at an advanced stage and we are very close to capturing the stopper.

A further twist from Sky is that they are claiming Casilla’s partner, Rosa Isern, has now following the club on Instagram and given my Luddite nature when dealing with social media even I’ve been able to confirm it – Click Here.

Having fallen down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu following the arrival of former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, whilst this would certainly be a left-field move by Victor Orta, the capture would be seen by many as a statement given the promotion hopes at the club in the season of 2018/19.
