Leeds agreeing deal for 11-goal ace makes sense: Sky pundit

|

Speaking to Football Insider, former Leeds defender Danny Mills has suggested that the Whites should look to bring in Teemu Pukki from Norwich Ciy tin the summer transfer window.

The highest levels of the professional game are on hiatus at the moment given the current global climate but eventually things will resume and the plan will be for the Whites to get back into the Premier League at long last.

Signings will need to be made, then, and Mills – often seen on Sky Sports and talkSPORT as a pundit – reckons that Pukki would be an obvious choice to come in from Norwich City and add to the current squad.

He said:

“Pukki would be the obvious choice.

“It is where does he go and what sort of fee would he command. Does he want to leave Norwich? He is the obvious one.

“He is a goalscorer and he has proven he can do it. A good position and the way that Leeds play…”

Pukki is Norwich’s top scorer with 11 goals so far this season, having started this campaign in particularly good form after proving one of the stars of the Championship in 2018/19.

Of course, he has fizzled out a little bit but Norwich’s form may well be a reason behind that and if he played in a Leeds side that creates as many chances as they do, he could back himself to be a real asset at Elland Road.

Should Orta try to sign Milner this summer?

For sure, it remains to be seen if such a deal ever comes off but the idea of Pukki coming into the side remains a sound one for now.

And, with Patrick Bamford and Jean-Kevin Augustin the only senior strikers currently at the club, it would make sense to try and bolster numbers in that area.
