Are you ready for another fascinating stat?
Well I should certainly hope so, and if you aren’t then be prepared for one, because this one is a doozy. Credit as always to @LUFCDATA for digging out this statistic, that account really doesn’t get the applause it deserves.
He discovered that Mateusz Klich has picked up exactly where he left off last season. In 18/19 he came second only to Pablo Hernandez in terms of assists, and if he carries on the way he’s going by creating this many chances, he’ll be challenging the Spaniard near the top of the charts this season as well.
Mateusz Klich has created more chances (8) than any other Championship player in the opening two matches this season. He is playing a key mobile attacking central role for Marcelo Bielsa and is fundamental to almost everything in attacking phases for Leeds. #LUFC pic.twitter.com/xufqYIXRKd

Having already got one assist so far this season, he’s on pace for 23. Ok that might be a bit of a stretch for him, but the more the merrier. Whilst it may be possible that you may have already noticed this from watching the games, it is something that could pass you by, just like these people here.
Interesting…from looking at games I was thinking he wasn’t as effective/influential in the more advanced role, but I guess not ????

There you go. Thought he was having a bit of a quiet one to be honest. Shows what I know haha

For everyone else though, this was mere confirmation of just how important the 29-year-old is to the side. This is how they reacted when they saw the statistic for themselves.
Brilliant midfielder. Movement, touch, passing all superb.
Laughable that some people want him dropping— Chris Hall (@Chrislufc87) August 12, 2019
a lot of people saying he’s been poor for no reason tbh. Key player, we’ve never played a game without him in the Champ under Bielsa and we’d notice the difference if he wasn’t in the team

Klich has basically got a free role in the attacking half, he’s everywhere and impossible to pick up. Undroppable.

He’s class. Makes incredible runs. Such a clever player. Be a worse side without him.

Legendary status awaits

What he does is often unseen.. keeps the ball moving often with one touch. Vital player in this formation
