Leeds United sensation Kalvin Phillips has stated he wishes to spend his entire career at Elland Road amid widespread interest in his services from Premier League clubs.

Phillips could be available for a move away from West Yorkshire this summer should United not secure promotion into the top-flight, as the club agreed to include a release clause in the 24-year-old’s contract that hinges on our league status when he penned new terms last September.

The clause is said to be valued in the region of £20m and £25million as the club turned down offers worth greater sums last summer whilst Phillips was a target for Aston Villa, though the Birmingham-based side would only offer half of our £30m price tag.

Phillips has since been relentlessly linked with a move to the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers claimed to be eying a summer swoop, while Tottenham Hotspur joined the race in February as they consider the 5 ft 10 ace to be capable of occupying a currently void role in Jose Mourinho’s plans.

But in a major dent to Spurs, Wolves or Aston Villa’s hopes of a successful bid this summer, Phillips has told FourFourTwo that he has no intentions of leaving Elland Road anytime soon.

“I want to spend my career at Leeds and see the club doing well in the Premier League,” Phillips said during an interview for the May 2020 edition, as quoted by TEAMtalk.

Who has missed more big chances to score after 37 league games?

“I’m just enjoying every minute right now. We’ve massively improved in this campaign, we’re a lot more experienced.

“We went through a bad patch at the wrong time last season and then lost in the Play-Offs. It was tough but it has helped us.”

Phillips has been a sensation in the second-tier under Marcelo Bielsa this term to warrant the Premier League interest in his services, having been lauded as the best player in the Championship and a player backed to earn a senior England call-up.

Phillips has started all 31 of his appearances during our 37 league games thus far this season, in which he has recorded 87 successful tackles from 135 attempts, 39 interceptions, 45 blocks, 15 successful dribbles, 1,700 passes, 60 key balls and 13 shots, per WhoScored data, returning one goal and two assists.
