Leeds United are flying high in the Championship this season and Saturday’s hard-fought victory over Sheffield United saw the Peacocks start the busy festive period in perfect fashion.
The victory, alongside West Brom’s draw on Monday evening, means that Marcelo Bielsa’s side hold a four-point cushion over their promotion rivals heading into this weekend’s clash with QPR.
However, despite all the positives, there is still room for concern as Bielsa’s squad were hit with a massive blow this week following the confirmation that captain Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas are both set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
The depth of Leeds’ squad is already being tested by previous injuries and if things continue at this rate, it won’t be too long until supporters are hauled from the stands to enter the frame as second-half substitutes.
Some fans took to social media to react to the latest injury blow and we have gathered some of their reactions below.
The idea that there is no strength in-depth is belied by the fact that Dallas is the 3rd choice at right back. Who has 4 right backs in the squad? Nobody apart from ludicrously wealthy clubs. It’s just very unlucky.

This makes a perfect scenario for football manager. “Navigate Leeds Utd to premier league promotion with 50% of the first team out injured”

No one can put these injuries down to Bielsa, broken bones during games are not training related #lufc

Who would have thought at start of season we would bemoaning the loss of those 2 … #LUFC

Wish everyone would stop coming out with this argument. How many right backs do you expect us to have?! It's just incredibly bad luck that our 3 first choice options are injured at the same time, no club can plan for that.
