Leeds United have been superb under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa this season, establishing themselves as one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League.

The wait to return to the top-flight is set to enter 15 years in 2019, with Leeds suffering relegation in 2004 and failing to secure a return ever since – even spending some time in the third tier of English football.

Therefore, Leeds supporters have become accustomed to waiting around a long time for things and the wait for a penalty rumbled on despite some very aggressive play from Sheffield United in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bramall Lane.

Leeds have not had a spot-kick since October 2017, where Pablo Hernandez missed an injury-time effort in a defeat to Reading at Elland Road – which means that fans will be forgiven for forgetting how penalties actually work.

This has led to some brilliant responses over the course of recent months for Leeds fans and they were at it again this weekend. We have gathered some of their comments below.
