There’s getting ahead of yourselves, and then there’s this.
Although given the high that a lot Leeds fans are on after victory on Tuesday night, I’ll forgive them this one time.
One popular Leeds Twitter account @NothingButLUFC posted yesterday that by his calculations, Leeds are set to be promoted as champions with 93 points, based off the current points total and then extrapolating that over the course of the season. Whilst there is obviously a lot of football still to be played, it’s still nice to be looking down on teams rather than constantly looking at someone above you.
There were a number of fans though who were quick to try and calm him down and point to Leeds’ recent history which shows that being top all the way through the season might not be the blessing they think it is.
At least there’s no record to break of no one has ever not been promoted when top at Christmas….

We need a 7 game win streak to kick in like in the run up to Xmas last year

You just shut up and let us actually get promoted first.

Leeds last season became one of the few teams to be top of the table at Christmas and fail to get promoted. So maybe we can just be happy with second this year and not fall into the trap of blowing another statistic again?
