Leeds United fans have been reacting to a report stating that the Whites have lodged a €12million (£10.5m) bid for Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis.
Luis is in terrific form in Russia at the moment, with a hit rate of one every other game in the Premier Liga and Europa League.
Before that, though, the 6 foot forward, valued by TransferMarkt at £6.3million, has never been a prolific centre-forward, as his next best season came during the 2014/15 Liga NOS campaign when he scored eight goals in 21 games for Braga.
The report coming out of Russia in Championat, however, has suggested that the Whites are officially in the hunt for 27-year-old as they look to secure promotion out of the Championship.
But, while Marcelo Bielsa may want the striker to partner Kemar Roofe in his roster, Spartak Moscow have no intentions of selling for the amount reportedly bid so far.
Going by these Whites fans’ reactions on Twitter, improving the bid for Luis may not be the right move in January…
According to media reports from Russia #LUFC have made a €12m bid for Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis who has scored 7 in 12 this season. He plays as a loan striker or winger. He is 27YO who is under contract till 2021. I cannot see Leeds buying this guy but who knows.

Reports in Russia claiming that #LUFC offered Spartak around £12m for forward Ze Luis. 11 goals in 20 league and Europa League games this season. Fairly confident that Leeds haven’t made an approach, especially for that amount of money, in this window.

Agree, unless it’s a loan with conditions based on promotion!

I would be flabbergasted if we did.
