Leeds United returned to the summit of the Championship standings on Sunday after a hard-fought victory over Wigan Athletic.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side fell behind after just six minutes but Pablo Hernandez levelled the scores just three minutes later, before Kemar Roofe netted the winning goal in the second half to snatch all three points.
Now 16 games into the campaign, the season is starting to take shape for Leeds and the side’s around them. While there is still plenty of work to be done, confidence is rising that the Peacocks could finally return to the Premier League.
A post on Twitter identified the differences in Leeds’ points return and league position compared to every season in the Championship since relegation in 2004, which shows Bielsa’s side are better than any of the previous Leeds’ sides.
That caused a reaction on social media, with some sharing their confidence while others are not getting ahead of themselves just yet. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
The transfer window in January will be really important i think, we still seem a bit thin in the squad, with some carefully thought signings there is no reason why we cant be top when it really matters MOT

We haven’t seen results like this for 2 decades almost… At last we seem to have found a decent manager. Took them long enough mind, Hockaday etc lol
Leeds are a big enough club to actually be an asset to the PL…. Big Games, Big Rivalries could be re-newed.
