‘Heading in the right direction’ – Many Leeds fans on Twitter judge Bielsa’s January business

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to judge their club’s January transfer activity as the window draws to a close.

United went into the window looking to address Marcelo Bielsa’s concerns over the goalkeeper situation and creative midfielders, having lost Chelsea-loanee Jamal Blackman to a broken tibia and Samuel Saiz to Getafe on loan.

There were no huge expectations that they would make wholesale additions in the winter market, and instead simply focused efforts on addressing the two weak areas of the side.

Kiko Casilla was brought in early in the month from Real Madrid, with Leeds able to negotiate a relative bargain of a deal that saw the 32-year-old move to Elland Road without a transfer fee.

Daniel James is also expected to finalise his move from Swansea before the deadline hits at 11 pm on Thursday, having traveled to Yorkshire on Wednesday night to complete his medical.

The duo are likely going to be the only first-team additions this month unless Leeds can pull off a complete shock of a deal, having missed out on defender Tyrone Mings to Aston Villa on loan.
