With Leeds United fans suffering an incredibly quiet summer so far on a transfer incoming front – we have secured only one loan signing in the shape of Lewis Baker from Chelsea – a recent report about owner Andrea Radrizzani has got some wondering if he’s spreading himself too thin to do his investments justice.

A recent report from Italian news outlet ANSA was pretty thin on the ground in terms of real information after a quick translation, but it’s fair to say that having expressed an interest in Serie B side Bari – whether it’s correct to think in this direction or not – a number of fans have made an educated guess and come to the conclusion that transfer business could be slow at Elland Road, because Radrizzani has been preoccupied with this potential investment as there is a 6pm deadline today for a deal to be completed.

If this assumption is true, maybe things will warm up properly now once this deadline passes – but if the assumption is right, Bari need his attentions still so where does the club now sit in his mini-empire?

It does seem a stretch to think he’s that hands-on in all his businesses though, this is what staff are for, Chief Executive and Operating Officers namely, they take care of the day to day with the owner taking a watching brief so he’s aware of things. I’d very much doubt that Radrizzani insists on much more than ‘sign off’ powers leaving Angus Kinnear in charge. In today’s technological world ‘sign off’ wouldn’t delay things this much. Just doesn’t seem logical to me to hang our lack of movement on this, even though I can see why it seems a sensible assumption.

It’s also fair to say on this topic when you think of the money he’s reportedly pumped into Leeds (over £100million so far) and then the reported investment he plans for Bari (£3million), he hasn’t got that much money because he doesn’t know how to prioritise. Whatever pressures are on time wise for the Italian side, he has far more at stake and to protect with us.
