Harrison attracting interest from Europe

|

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been gaining admirers from around Europe, despite not being in particularly good form for The Whites.

As per Leeds United Live, the 26-year-old, who signed from Manchester City for £11m in July 2021 after three successful loan spells with the club, has been gaining the attention of potential suitors from around Europe with the likes of Ajax and Atalanta interested in the Leeds star. Harrison is reported to also be on the wish list of some Premier League clubs including Newcastle and Arsenal.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies reportedly had two bids of around £20-£25m turned down for the former MLS star in the summer and it was later revealed, Leeds had put a price tag of £35m on the winger, to ward off any interest. However, with a squad rebuild taking place at Elland Road, Jesse Marsch could opt to sell the out-of-favour winger, to boost his transfer kitty.

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta is said to be interested in Harrison and the pair could be reunited after The Gunners missed out on former top target Mykhailo Mudryk who opted for Chelsea instead. Arteta worked with Harrison at Manchester City and could be the manager to get him firing again.

Harrison is somewhat of a frustrating player at Leeds. He can play out of his skin, score goals create assists and take players on for fun, then for six or seven games, he goes missing. However, he is still a player I would be keen to keep. He has struggled with injuries of late, and that in itself is a rarity as his record is pretty good when it comes to his fitness.

It seems now he has some real competition for his place on the wing. Luis Sinisterra has come back from injury and Willy Gnonto has been in superb form, with Crysencio Summerville nearing fitness you wonder if Harrison will get his spot back.

He has played recently in the number ten role and that has suited him perfectly in my opinion. He drifted into that position against Cardiff City in the FA Cup replay at Elland Road and clearly showed he is capable with a phenomenal assist for Rodrigo and another slick pass for Gnonto’s second. He just needs to back that up and start chipping in with some goals.

What do you think, should we be keeping Harrison or moving him on and using the money for new recruitments? Let us know in the comments.
