David Moyes has been speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference and has admitted there is an injury doubt over some of his key players.

According to Football.London, West Ham will be without Kurt Zouma through injury and there are major doubts over Michail Antonio after a bout of illness. David Moyes said, “Micks had a bit of illness that a lot of people have had around the country at the moment. Hopefully, Mick is okay. Kurt is doing well but he’s not available this game.”

West Ham have struggled of late with recent results putting pressure on manager David Moyes. A horrible run of form and having not won a game in the Premier League since a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth on the 24th of October has seen the London club slip to 17th in the league table and only out of the bottom three on goal difference. Wednesday’s trip to Elland Road is massive for both clubs and without sounding cliché, it really is a six-pointer, even at this early stage of the season. If the Hammers get the win, it could send them up to 14th in the table. If Jesse Marsch’s side claim the victory, and results elsewhere go their way, they could find themselves leapfrogging Leicester into 13th, with a game in hand on those around them. Jesse Marsch will be hoping this game can be the catalyst for the rest of the campaign after picking up a valuable point at St James Park on Saturday.

David Moyes knows the challenge ahead of him and when asked about the job Jesse Marsch has done at Leeds, he said, “If you understand the Red Bull model, then you understand a lot of Jesse Marsch. The way they play, what he’s done, how the likes of Salzburg would play, how Leipzig play because the Red Bull model has got an idea of how they play and how they set up.”

“He’s done it very well, he’s implicated it very well. It’s something which might take a bit of time but I think he’s just getting a bit of a grip on it. He’s had maybe six months in the Premier League or something like that now, so he’s beginning to get more used to it.”

Both teams will be in cup action next as Leeds travel to Wales to face Cardiff City and West Ham make the short trip to play Brentford.
