Leeds defender Shaun Gregan has left Leeds United following a mutual termination of his contract.

Gregan recently returned from a loan stint at Oldham Athletic however it was made clear upon his return that he did not feature in the clubs plans. Another player brought in by Blackwell who was a regular under the former boss, only to be dismissed by Wisey, making only 2 appearances before being sent on loan.

Oldham are believed to be trying to sort out a deal to take the 32 year-old back to Boundary Park on a permanent basis.

A clubs spokesman released a statement in relation to the news:

‘We would like to express our thanks to him for the contribution he has made since joining us from West Bromwich Albion when he helped to stabilise the position after our relegation from the Premier League.

‘We wish him every success in the future,’ he added.
