With Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford sidelined for Leeds United, after a more difficult start with only momentary flashes being shown in 2018/19 so far, youngster Tyler Roberts has shown he’s now ready to hit the ground running.
The Welsh international had only made two appearances in the EFL Cup for manager Marcelo Bielsa this year, but with the boost of a run out for Wales against the Republic of Ireland, in hindsight that was well timed as he’s been leant on immediately since then given our injury situation.
Millwall wasn’t a great showing from the lad, but not entirely unexpected as he adjusted and people shouldn’t forget the was still working himself back up to match sharpness following the injury that kept him out for the second half of last season.
Scoring a brace against Preston North End in the midweek fixture was exactly what he needed and plenty now think he’ll simply not look back as he gets his career at the club up and running.
So happy for Roberts! Great things in the future for the young lad. #lufc

On to Birmingham at the weekend and a third for the year wouldn’t do him any harm at all.
