According to Ger Lynch on his Youtube channel, Leeds United – The View, Leeds United are heavily linked with and “will push” to sign Club Brugge and Netherlands winger Noa Lang.

The 23-year-old has been linked with the Whites several times, although nothing has yet materialised between the player and the Yorkshire club. It was believed the interest from Leeds stems from former boss Marcelo Bielsa who was an admirer of Lang, but in the toss-up between Lang and Dan James, the former Whites coach preferred James. Reports are that Leeds want to get the deal done as soon as possible and not repeat the situation they had with Cody Gakpo and Charles De Ketelaere where it was left too late to make a move for either player and alerted other clubs to their availability.

Noa Lang is a fantastic player with huge potential, the only thing that will concern Leeds fans is the reports of the player having a bad attitude and the accusations about his conduct away from the field. He does however have a good record on the pitch. In his 78 appearances for Club Brugge, he has netted 25 times and at his previous club Ajax, he scored 3 goals in 9 games. He has represented The Netherlands 36 times at youth and senior levels, scoring 10 times. He also has Champions League experience and it is believed a fee of around £25m would be enough for his signature. Jesse Marsch will be hoping to get the deal done, as well as other targets as soon as possible in the January transfer window.

Ger Lynch said, “According to transfer expert Dean Jones, Leeds will push to sign Noa Lang soon. It’s pretty vague, but the detail of this basically is that Leeds don’t want to be in a situation where they get caught with their pants down like they did with Gakpo and De Ketelaere and they wait too long. Now in saying that Leeds have been linked with Noa Lang for well over a year now, it was supposed to be that Noa Lang or Dan James coming to Leeds but Bielsa favoured James at the time.”

Noa Lang in action for Club Brugge in the Champions League

“Lang has had his issues in the past we’ve talked about, we won’t exhaust them here again, but there is no doubt there’s a talented player in there. What Dean Jones has had to say about Lang is the following. Leeds want to avoid the disappointment of suffering on someone like Gakpo and missing out on them and then seeing them linked with every club in Europe. Basically, it’s the same thing that has happened before they don’t want to happen with Lang. He’s got massive potential and is already doing really well so I’d expect them to push on with this soon.”

“So Dean Jones reckon Leeds making that move pretty imminently to sign Noa Lang, as I said last night in the stream if you take all the other stuff about his personality and his character out of the way and the accusations of the past and just to focus on him as a footballer, there’s an immense amount of talent there. People say stupid things when they’re young. We’ve all done it, and you just hope he’s grown up and has started to mature a little bit. So that kind of nonsense is out of the way and you can focus on the football, and if you can just get the football, you’re getting a really, really good player in Noa Lang there as well.”
