Lots of Leeds United fans have been going crazy on social media, after LUFC Data revealed that Mateusz Klich has completed more successful final third passes than any other Championship player thus far this season.

The Poland international has been one of the most integral pieces of boss Marcelo Bielsa’s jigsaw in 2019/20, having started all 33 of our second-tier fixtures and playing the fourth-most minutes (2,820) of the squad.

Only Ben White (2,970) and Stuart Dallas (2,914) have played more minutes of league action than Klich among Bielsa’s outfield options, while only Jack Harrison (six), Pablo Hernandez (four) and Luke Ayling (three) have created more goals than the 29-year-old (two).

Klich’s numbers are down on those of last season, having been credited with six of his season-total eight assists by the 33rd game of the campaign, while also netting seven of his ten – the 23-cap ace has three league goals this season.

Can Bielsa's system work without Klich?

Regardless of his decline in overall goal impact, Klich’s output is up there with the best having found teammates with a second-tier-high 565 final third passes – 75 more than second-most man Brentford winger Said Benrahma (490)

Hernandez is the only other United player to feature in the top ten for completed final third passes with 460 (fifth-most in the league).

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Klich leading the division for completed final third passes this season…

In other Leeds United news, Victor Orta has been tipped to forge a summer raid to land a 10-goal wonderkid.
