Some Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after LUFC Data revealed our record in the Championship this season when scoring the first goal.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have broken the deadlock in 22 of our 36 second-tier fixtures played to date this term, in which we have gone on to take more points than any other team in the division with 60 points brought to Elland Road.

Our haul of points put on the board when scoring first comes thanks to 19 wins and three draws, with Bielsa yet to see his Whites beaten in the 2019/20 league campaign when we have scored the first goal.

United have broken the deadlock in our last four Championship fixtures and gone on to win by margins of 1-0 against Bristol City, Reading and Middlesbrough while beating Hull City 4-0 last weekend.

Who will score first in the West Yorkshire Derby on Saturday?

Huddersfield

We had failed to score the first goal in our seven league games played before hosting Bristol City last month, in a run which would feature just one win and two draws while losing to Sheffield Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers, Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest – only coming from behind to beat Millwall 3-2 having trailed by two after 23 minutes.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to our record in the league this season when scoring the first goal…

In other Leeds United news, Bielsa has been backed to urge Director of Football Victor Orta to sign a 23-year-old Premier League player this summer.
