Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after the club shared that Mateusz Klich earned his 84th-straight Championship appearance during last Saturday’s clash with Hull City.
Klich has opened each and every one of Marcelo Bielsa’s second-tier games at the Elland Road helm, including our two Play-Off appearances last season, despite his life in West Yorkshire starting on extremely shaky foundations.
After signing with the club in the summer of 2017 from Eredivisie side FC Twente, Klich was only able to earn five league outings – of which only one came in the starting line-up – under Thomas Christiansen before leaving for FC Utrecht on loan in the January window.
You’d have been forgiven for thinking that it would have been impossible for Klich to return from Utrecht to become such a valuable figure in our side, but that was exactly what the 23-cap Poland ace managed with Bielsa in charge.
Would Klich be as vital to Bielsa in the Premier League?
Yes
No
Klich has also been able to add goals to his game since his shaky start, having scored just once and assisted three times for Utrecht before penning ten goals and nine assists in all competitions for us last term and has five goals and four assists to his name already this season.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to the club’s post highlighting Klich’s run of starting appearances in the Championship, including the Play-Offsβ¦
