It’s been an interesting month or so under Paul Heckingbottom to say the least and that is perhaps sugar-coating things a bit.
Though things haven`t picked up, I am still of the opinion that he will get us challenging for the play-off places – though that will have to be next year now of course.
Undoubtedly, this was going to be a job tougher than he has ever had before and he has needed time to adapt when, really, he didn`t really have that luxury given our position.
A month in, then, and we`ve not seen much in the way of change but I think we`ll get there eventually.

Do you think his brief was to sort out the dead wood? We are certainly no better than we were, which was awful. In trying out things we still end up back at the wretched 4-2-3-1 – which is ace if you`ve got Kante or Matic patrolling midfield, but less so with our clowns.

No matter what system is played a good footballer will be able to adapt to the formation, we have 7/8 players who are not good enough and probably don’t have the basics of, passing, defending, and tackling also we are very light and delicate

When you think, Monk got us to 7th even with Cellino in charge. AR took over & this season has been an absolute disaster. I`m not praising Cellino. I am critical of AR.

I`m sure he`s adding names to kill list. Problem 1 – AR desire to plonk every man and dog on 4 yr deals. (Why?). 2 – euro import failures driven by VO approach, as uk apparently too costly (rethink?) 3 – formations red herring (qual of player?)

Is it me just thinking that now we have a large squad of players that are not good enough, the majority being on long contacts we are going to struggle to offload them in the summer and this will cause a big problem. ‘We can’t sign anyone else, the squad is too big already’

More like no sign of any change yet. Hadi on the left wing and continual changes. Do you think he’s got a plan Phil? An image that he wants to build his team in ? At the moment things are pretty underwhelming – reaction seems negligeable. Oh I do want to believe……
