“Leeds are progressing in talks with Bayern for Marc Roca” reports Fabrizio Romano, via Twitter.

The whites have been in talks with the Spaniard and his representatives for the past week or so and now it looks like the deal is at an advanced stage. With Fabrizio Romano adding “Leeds hope to get the deal done this week.”

Bayern are looking for a fee of around €15m and it looks very likely he will be Leeds United player in the coming days.  There has also been interest from West ham, but it looks like the 25 year old has opted for a switch to Elland Road.

Leeds have been looking to strengthen in the midfield area of the park and Roca looks a good fit, he has great passing ability and is calm on the ball.  He will certainly help Leeds move through the transition from midfield to attack and fans will be hoping he can provide much needed defensive stability alongside Kalvin Phillips.

He comes with a wealth of experience playing over 120 games in the La Liga with Espanyol and has played in the Champions League numerous times.  He has found game time at Bayern hard to come by but he has always had top players in front of him in the pecking order.  Leaving the German giants to get valuable game time must be in his mind with the World Cup selections being discussed for the upcoming tournament in November.

Roca will become Leeds third signing already since the end of last season, showing their intent to have a more successful season in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
