Fabrizio Romano: Juventus star agrees terms with Whites

|

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United target Weston McKennie has agreed to their contract proposals and it’s now between the clubs to go further.

The USA international looks set to switch to the Premier League from Italian giants Juventus and could be the Whites’ third signing of the January transfer window after deals for Max Wober and Georginio Rutter were completed in the past week or so.

Jesse Marsch will be hoping to add the 24-year-old to his midfield alongside compatriots Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams. According to the reliable sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal could be set to be completed soon and the two clubs are discussing the conditions of the agreement and are now in talks on how to proceed.

The combative midfielder has good experience having played in the German Bundesliga with Schalke over 70 times, scoring 4 goals. He then went to Juventus on loan in 2020, making the deal permanent the following year. He has so far racked up over 70 games for the Italian giants scoring 9 goals. He has represented his country at U17, U19 and U20 levels as well as over 40 senior appearances, also scoring on 9 occasions.

McKennie would be a superb signing for Leeds and a real signal of intent of how the club are looking to move forward. With just under a week left until the January transfer window shuts, the Leeds fans will be hoping for one or two more additions to add to an already very successful window so far.
