Ex-Leeds ace predicts major moves from Marcelo Bielsa’s side this summer

|

Former Leeds United midfielder Michael Brown predicts that it will be a busy summer for the club during the summer transfer window.

The Whites have had an outstanding season and sit top of the Championship table, two points clear of West Bromwich Albion and three clear of Brentford with a game in hand to both teams.

With the only attacking option in the team available being Patrick Bamford, the forward area is most certainly where Marcelo Bielsa needs to consider improving next season, especially if his side are to reach the top flight.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown believes that Bielsa will bring in several attacking players before the 2020/21 campaign gets underway.

“Any good player who can put the ball in the net, that’s what they’re going to want”, he said.

“Does Bamford need some help at the top of the pitch? For sure, of course he does. As you go into the Premier League you’re probably going to need another couple of attacking players to help the likes of Costa and Bamford.

“You’ve got Hernandez behind there who’s got that creativity but they’ll need forward players, you need to score goals in the Premier League and there’ll be a few coming in, I would expect.”

Brown is right about this. There have been nervy periods since the restart that the Whites have run out of ideas from an attacking perspective.

The defeat to Cardiff City and the draw at Elland Road to Luton Town are two of the most recent examples of this, which Bielsa’s team would not get away with in the Premier League.

The obvious objective for the club is to establish themselves a top-flight club once again. To do that, Andrea Radrizzani must provide the Argentinian tactician with the funds to compete and not to make up the numbers.
