Jonathan Douglas will return to the Leeds United 1st team squad this week as he finishes his recovery from injury.

Douglas managed his first full game midweek as Anthony Elding scored both goals as the reserve team drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday, and will now look to boost Gary McAllister’s midfield choices as we enter the critical part of the season.

On Douglas, Gary Mac was clearly a happy bunny:

“Dougie came through 70 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game last week and played the full 90 this week. He’ll be in the squad.

“He’s done well and he’s training with us, but I’ve been pleased with the lads in our midfield over the past few weeks and they’ve done well.”

“We’ve got a big squad so there’s a few things to think about,” he added.

“I know my starting 11, and I don’t think there’ll be too many changes.”
