The League Paper is reporting that Swindon Town’s current cash crisis may change Dennis Wise’s mind about taking up the vacant managers job at Leeds.

The paper also reports that Wise has already turned down the chance to join Leeds as assistant to Claudio Ranieri, who played down speculation about the Leeds job, but has been at the clubs last four matches.

Swindons investor Bill Power pulled the plug following a horific plane crash while travelling from Swindon’s opening game against Hartlepool United. Town chief executive Mark Devlin was also seriously injured.

Power has been told by doctors he will be unable to work for for at least 18 Months and as such cancelled his investment in the Wiltshire club.

Paul Ince’s arrival at the County Ground took Swindons wage bill over the Football Leagues cap of 60% of turnover, the deal had to be negotiated with the Football League before going ahead.

Without Power’s investment things are looking a bit darker at the County Ground at the moment and without resources to finish his job in hand, Wise may think about looking elsewhere.
