According to Conor McGilligan and the One Leeds fan channel, Leeds United may struggle to keep hold of American midfielder Tyler Adams.

The former RB Leipzig midfielder has been fantastic for the USA in their opening two games in the World Cup and his performances have made clubs around Europe and indeed the world start to take notice of the player and some of them may have scribbled his name on their wish list. Leeds fans already know how good he is, he has been superb for Jesse Marsch this season. The 23-year-old tough-tackling no-nonsense midfielder has started 13 of their 14 Premier League games and has looked like a great replacement for Kalvin Phillips. Many weren’t sure about Adams when he arrived, myself included, but he has now looked the part week-in, week-out at Elland Road.

Will Leeds struggle to keep Adams at Elland Road?

Yes, there will be interest

No, he's Leeds and he knows it

No, he's Leeds and he knows it

On the One Leeds Fan Channel, Conor McGilligan and his guest have discussed the problems the Whites may face in keeping hold of the midfielder, and they feel his value is much more than what Leeds purchased him for. McGilligan said, “He’s just, he’s absolutely like, for what his actual profile is, which we don’t need a full profile because you’ve got Marc Roca to compensate him, you’ve literally got a player there who is evolving and I’m now looking at him, and I’m thinking he’s now got two man of the match performances. He’s being completely dominant in midfield against a strong English midfield, the Welsh midfield isn’t bad at all, either and he dominated that midfield and you’re looking at him now and thinking, you know, he’s on a five-year contract whatever it is at Leeds, four or five-year contract and you know, we’re gonna actually do well to keep hold of this guy again in the summer because there’s going to be suitors for him.”

“What he’s doing at the minute, is almost like I feel almost with the style at Leeds at the minute and how frantic and how chaotic it is, that in comparison to what it is with the States, where it seemed, seemed a little bit more measured. I’m not saying yeah, the best team, but it seems a little bit more measured and structured. It’s almost like you’re doing him a little bit of a disservice because I think it may be a more organized structured team. I’m not pimping him out here. I’m just saying it’d be nice if Leeds were able to just have that element to our game at points, have a really good you know, in-game management side to us, he’d really flourish and yeah, it just seems like the chaos doesn’t really suit his game and you can see that with the States.”

There are always going to be rumours about the White’s better players, Brenden Aaronson has been on the end of speculation surrounding transfers away from West Yorkshire but let’s remember, Leeds have these players on long-term deals still. Any potential suitor will have to pay a pretty sum for any of our new signings and I don’t think we are in a position in which we have to sell any of the new guys this season. There may be outgoings, but hopefully the board, and indeed Marsch, offload the fringe players and keep the new, young talent for the future. We have the makings of a good squad, and with a decent January transfer window, we can hopefully start to climb the Premier League table.
